Our elementary school includes those students in Grades K to 4. At this stage students learn many lessons through memorization. Memorization helps students learn facts and principles which are at the root of learning. Art, music, orchestra, physical education, history, science, language arts, math, religious education, and Latin (grades 1-8) are a part of the curriculum offered at the elementary level. To promote learning outside of the classroom, students in Grades 1 to 4 attend an outdoor education trip in the spring. Recent trips have been to Camp Forest Glen near Huntsville where students have had the opportunity to participate in archery, canoeing, science and nature classes, zip lining, and fishing.
Throughout the school year, MLS students have the opportunity to participate in many fine arts activities that include the annual Christmas program, spring music concert and art show, and the end-of-year closing program.
The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Students needing extended hours may register to be enrolled in our before/after care program.
