House System

MLS uses the House System. Each student at Memorial Lutheran School, Kindergarten-12th grade, is placed in one of four “houses” named after the four Gospels in the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In Upper School, these become with whom they begin each day in Homeroom. Houses also sit together for chapel each Wednesday morning. Throughout the year, students can earn, points for their house by contributing to school culture in various ways such as participation in sports or theater, volunteering at or attending events, earning good grades, and the like—all of which contribute to the final goal: winning the coveted House Cup.
